Your new role

The primary purpose of the Senior Practitioner position in NEMA Orange Door is to respond to the needs of children young people and families by providing senior support and leadership within a team.

Although no two days will be the same you can expect to:

  • Provide support to the Team Leader to meet service delivery requirements; manage practitioner case allocation endorsement and closures; meet relevant service targets and standards; guide mentor and coach practitioners where appropriate.
  • Take up higher duties as acting Team Leader during periods of absence as requested by the Team Leader.
  • Take responsibility for holding a reduced active case load with higher levels of practice and complexity and be responsible for providing senior casework consultancy to the broader team.
  • Undertake specific portfolios and projects as assigned participate in Working Groups and undertake other tasks to support to the function.

About you

  • You have a minimum of 35 years experience working with women and children victimsurvivors of family violence and those familys requiring assistance with the care and wellbeing needs of children and young people.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience working in clinical roles in family violence AND child and family vulnerability.
  • Sound understanding of the MARAM framework and sector obligations.
  • Sound understanding of the family violence and child wellbeing system and referral options for clients.
  • Demonstrated capability to network and build productive relationships and partnerships with others both inside and outside organisational boundaries
  • Highly developed written verbal and interpersonal skills
