Summary
Journey level knowledge of electrical systems with ability to troubleshoot and repair Heating ventilation air conditioning systems food service equipment fire alarm systems lighting circuits laundry equipment door operators building monitoring systems and general electrical distribution systems and equipment. Ability to perform lead worker duties to monitor instruct and assist Facility Maintenance Technicians in performing work and other duties as assigned. Ability to learn and obtain refrigerant certification. Ability to learn new systems and follow preventive maintenance instructions and troubleshooting guidelines. Must have ability to read and understand blueprints schematic drawings installation and operation manuals. Ability to learn and observe all safety regulations practices and procedures and communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Must be able to operate a computer for email and a CMMS work order system to provide necessary feedback and pass on instructions to others. Must be able to work weekend shifts. Must be able to work on lifts and in extreme temperatures (hot & Cold). In general the work of the maintenance electrician requires rounded training and experience usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.
Education
Requires developing job knowledge/skills.
Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum 2year technical degree in HVAC or electrical apprenticeship program and 5 years of related work experience.
CFC Certification is preferred
Journeyman electrical is preferred
Project Plan and estimating skills are
Advanced computer skills
Advanced interpersonal skills
Security Responsibilities
Must complywith all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures. Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials in any form. Shall not divulge any information or afford access to other employees not having a needtoknow. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval. All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.
Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers phones photocopiers filing cabinets and fax job operates both indoors and outdoors in sometimes extreme temperatures using various tools and equipment which includes ladders and lifts up to 65 feet.
