We at Edenred Paytech are looking for an experienced Postgres DBA to join our inhouse database team to support our database estate and help energise our Cloud Adoption journey.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of designing implementing and supporting Postgres and Oracle Database solutions and will have experience of migrating high performance mission critical Oracle Database workloads to Aurora Postgres. We are looking for an individual who enjoys a fast pace can prioritise workload and can work under their own initiative.

The role requires handson technical expertise and strong collaboration with developers architects and DevOps teams to ensure our data infrastructure aligns with business needs and industry standards.
Your Responsibilities
- Manage configure and optimise PostgreSQL databases hosted on Amazon Aurora and Oracle databases hosted on onpremise Exadatas and AWS RDS.
- Support the migration of highperformance missioncritical databases from onpremise Exadatas to AWS Aurora Postgres.
- Support workloads on other database engines in AWS including MySQL MariaDB and SQL Server.
- Implement and maintain strong security standards to ensure compliance with PCI DSS and other regulatory requirements.
- Implement security best practices including user management encryption and auditing.
- Design and implement database schemas partitioning strategies and indexing solutions.
- Ensure high availability disaster recovery and scalability of database systems.
- Configure strong monitoring and management processes and tooling to help troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues in real time.
Your profile
Essential
- Handson experience as a PostgreSQL and Oracle DBA in production environments.
- Significant experience of migrating database workloads to Postgres from Oracle.
- Deep understanding of PostgreSQL architecture including replication clustering and indexing strategies and a strong understanding of Postgres vacuum/MVCC process.
- Proven experience with query optimization and database performance tuning.
- Handson experience with AWS services such as EC2 S3 VPC and IAM.
- Solid understanding of database security principles and compliance frameworks
- Experience implementing robust backup and recovery strategies.
Desirable
- Proficiency with infrastructure automation tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools such as CloudWatch Datadog or similar.
- Experience of database replication tooling such as AWS DMS and Goldengate.
- Experience of collaborating with DevOps teams to integrate databases into CI/CD pipelines and infrastructureascode (IaC) frameworks like Terraform.
