THE POSITION
The Department of Transportation is actively looking to hire a Maintenance Repairman 2 to join their team. In this vital position you will be responsible for performing both skilled and semiskilled maintenance and repair tasks across various buildings and facilities as well as machinery and equipment. Your expertise will contribute significantly to the County Maintenance Organization ensuring that all operations run smoothly and efficiently. Additionally you will play a key role as a member of the bridge crew where your skills will be essential in maintaining the structural integrity and safety of the countys bridges. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this position you will be responsible for addressing all routine building maintenance requests that are essential for the daily upkeep of the facilities. This includes handling specialized tasks that necessitate the use of power tools and advanced craftsmanship skills. For any requests that may require an extensive amount of time or incur nonstandard costs I will seek approval from my supervisor before proceeding. It is crucial to ensure that all maintenance activities are conducted efficiently and in accordance with established protocols thereby maintaining the integrity and functionality of the building.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Fulltime employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM Monday Friday with a 30minute lunch.
- The winter season will require a midshift schedule to accommodate welding responsibilities.
- Telework:You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary:In some cases the starting salary may be nonnegotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work which has involved at least two of the building electrical or mechanical trades; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges Skills and Abilities.
Special Requirement:- This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Drivers License.
Additional Requirements:
- Must possess a minimum of 2 years of welding experience.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Preferred Qualifications (not required):
- Two years of experience with the following preferred (but not required)
- Using blueprints schematics and diagrams
- Carpentry
- Project cost estimating
- Plumbing
- General maintenance
- Safety
- Electrical
- Painting
- Drywall/plaster
- Roofing/flooring installation
