The Farmer 2 ensures smooth operation of cheese making processes at the Creamery. Routine responsibilities include making cheese and all the jobs associated with that process from receiving milk into the cheese vat to getting the cheese into its final package. This position may also help with the manufacture of ice cream. Conscientiously completing the required documentation of all steps of the process and safely preparing the equipment for the next days operation are also critical parts of the job. This position is also utilized to train student employees in these same tasks.

This is a full time 100 FTE) permanent position. This position is overtime eligible.
Monthly Salary: $2961 to $3910 Range 33 Steps A M Successful candidates are typically hired at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 35728.
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110 the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidates current experience education skills and abilities related to the position.

Two years of experience in farm work or maintaining livestock; OR equivalent education/experience.
Experience in food manufacturing work; OR equivalent education/experience.
Must have or be able to obtain within fourteen 14 days of hire a Washington State Food Handlers permit
Must have or be able to obtain within thirty 30 days of hire First Aid certification.
Must have or be able to obtain by time of hire a valid drivers license and meet requirements in accordance withSPPM 7.10and departmental driving standards.
Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed. This position often works into the evening and occasional Saturdays.
Experience with office software such as databases spreadsheets word processing.
Understand basic sanitation.
Experience in a dairy processing facility.
Experience training others.
