OVERVIEW:
The Program Assistant is responsible for ensuring a specific District program operates effectively and within District 7 guidelines. The Program Assistant works with limited to no teacher supervision and collaborates with District Administration. The specific areas of need are:

• Passion for working within an alternative education mindset.
• Form positive professional relationships with all students
• Demonstrated ability to use trauma informed practice
• Knowledgeable in district curriculum for either Language Arts Math and/or Social Studies
• Social Emotional Learning knowledge base that reinforces district adopted Discovery Program and the current Gladiola Way
• Work effectively as part of a team of educators

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade:
   • Two years of postsecondary study.
   • An Associates (or Higher) degree.
   • A passing score on a state or local assessment that measures knowledge of and the ability to assist in instructing reading writing and mathematics.
2. Field attendance related calls from parents.
3. Monitor attendance and make calls home to check on students.

1. Work to remove barriers to attendance and incentivize positive behavior.
2. Work with Attention to Attendance (A2A) system.
3. Help students review and problem solve.
4. Data entry of all discipline and PBIS dispositions.
5. Generate detention notice correspondence.
6. Maintain and file all discipline records.
7. Supervise students sent to the learning center for various reasons including behavior timeout suspension lunch detention and academic tutoring. Hold students accountable for a positive learning experience every minute the student is assigned to detention.
8. Facilitate learning opportunities by coordinating with the students teachers necessary and appropriate class work or provide ageappropriate material that the student participates in.
9. Supervise Structured Study classes.
10. Bilingual and biliterate in Spanish preferred.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

• $16.15$23.33 per hour (currentpay ratespay rates contingent on ratification and School Board approval). Dependent on approved accepted experience/education.
• Annual COLA pay increase (as negotiated with Oregon Association of Classified Employees)
• Annual step pay increase awarded to eligible employees

• 6 employee paid contribution towards Oregon Public Employees Retirement System
• Longevity Service Stipend after 10 years of employment $800$1400
