Elementary Assistant Principal

The Elementary Assistant Principal plays a critical role in supporting the daily operations and instructional leadership of an elementary school. This position works in close collaboration with the Principal to promote effective teaching and learning implement datadriven instructional strategies and ensure a safe engaging and studentcentered school culture. Reports To: Building Principal
Salary: Starting salary is based on the Administrator Salary Schedule commensurate with education and experience.
Qualifications
- Valid Kansas administrative license issued by the Kansas State Board of Education
- Minimum of three 3 years of combined teaching and administrative experience
- Masters degree in Educational Administration or related field
- Demonstrated interest and experience in curriculum instruction and assessment
- Experience leading professional development initiatives preferred
- Knowledge of Title I programs and reporting preferred
Key Responsibilities
- Instructional Leadership & School Operations: Oversee instructional practices within the building by analyzing student achievement data supporting curriculum implementation and guiding teachers in planning and delivering highquality instruction aligned with district standards. Support daily school operations including scheduling resource allocation and staff support to ensure a productive learning environment.
- Staff Supervision & Professional Development: Supervise and evaluate certified and classified staff to ensure effective performance and instructional quality. Plan and lead professional development activities and coaching sessions that align with school improvement goals and foster staff growth.
- Family & Community Engagement: Coordinate with families and community organizations to support student learning promote family engagement and enhance schoolcommunity partnerships. Lead and manage Title I parent involvement activities and communication.
- School Safety & Student Support: Implement and monitor behavior and safety protocols assist with student discipline and contribute to crisis prevention and response plans. Support student success through behavior intervention strategies and inclusive school climate initiatives.
- Compliance & Reporting: Ensure compliance with federal state and district regulations including Title I and state assessment requirements. Compile maintain and submit accurate reports and documentation as required.
- Other Duties: Participate in professional development maintain current knowledge of educational practices and perform additional duties as assigned by the Principal.
Physical Requirements/Environmental Conditions
- Ability to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods
- Occasional lifting stooping bending and reaching required
- Must be able to work in noisy crowded environments and travel as needed
- Regular attendance and physical presence at the worksite are required
