Duties & Responsibilities:
- Supervising a fast paced team responsible for the safe and efficient handling of containers to and from both road and rail vehicles
- Ensures company standards and ways of working are followed throughout
- Ensures health and safety standards are met throughout.
- Liaises with customers freight operating companies and internal departments to ensure requirements are met
- Undertakes periodic reporting and checks
- Potential for future development within the company
What were looking for:
- Selfmotivated individual with effective leadership and teambuilding skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills necessary
- Attention to details in all aspects of work
- IT Literate (good knowledge of Excel would be an advantage)
- Previous experience of operating forklift trucks or heavier container handling equipment
- Previous experience in container terminal rail terminal or port operations desired but not essential
