The West Chester Area School Districthas the following position at thesecondary level(certification requirement appropriate valid PA certification):
1.0 Librarian Peirce Middle School
The Librarian coordinates building level library/media programs. The librarian reports directly to the building principal and works cooperatively with administrators supervisors staff parents/guardians students and others to perform job responsibilities.
Minimum Requirements are:
Preferred Bachelors degree in Library Science with valid PA certification. Praxis certified will be considered
Proficiency in the use of technology is essential. Demonstration of use of NETS standards and computer systems not limited to the Internet is required.
Candidate should be able to demonstrate integration of content using best practices instructional strategies PA Core and ALA Skills and Standards.
Librarian should have extensive knowledge of MARC records as well as Library of Congress and Sears subject headings.
Possess effective interpersonal skills with the ability to interface diplomatically with other teachers administrators parents students support staff and outside professional contacts
*Candidates who do not have their PA teaching certificate must have the College Verification of Eligibility Letter which states that you have successfully completed the program and are eligible for certification.
Salary: PER WCAEA CONTRACT
