Job Description
The Amazon Pricing & Promotions Analytics team seeks a Senior Data Engineer to build automated pricing solutions that deliver competitive prices to customers. In this role you will design and implement data analytics solutions that drive pricing decisions while creating automated anomaly detection systems to monitor pricing effectiveness. Your responsibilities include analyzing customer behavior patterns to inform pricing strategy and developing actionable insights for senior leadership to guide business decisions. You will partner with stakeholders to implement datadriven pricing recommendations. Your work will directly impact Amazons pricing strategy and customer experience. The position requires expertise in data analysis and a track record of translating complex data into clear business recommendations.
Key job responsibilities
Design and implement modern data pipelines and business intelligence solutions
Configure and optimize AWS services including EC2 RDS Redshift Kinesis EMR and Lambda
Create scalable data architecture to support analytics data science and customer reporting needs
Collaborate with technology teams to develop ETL processes across multiple data sources
Automate reporting systems and enhance selfservice analytics capabilities for customers

The Pricing and Promotions team drives Amazons success by developing automated pricing systems and enabling datadriven decisions at scale. We optimize pricing strategies to benefit customers and sellers while considering both immediate and longterm business impacts. Our scope spans the entire customer journey from product sourcing to customer experience ensuring pricing decisions enhance Amazons competitive advantage.
3 years of data engineering experience
4 years of SQL experience
Experience with data modeling warehousing and building ETL pipelines
Experience with AWS technologies like Redshift S3 AWS Glue EMR Kinesis FireHose Lambda and IAM roles and permissions
Experience with nonrelational databases / data stores (object storage document or keyvalue stores graph databases columnfamily databases)
Bachelors degree
