Job Description
THE ROLE:

WHAT YOULL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR IN THIS ROLE
The Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for duties that will involve pipe fitting insulating welding troubleshooting and repairing mechanical and hydraulic equipment as well as executing preventive maintenance.
- Ensures self and coworkers are compliant with all safety rules and regulations (LOTO fall protection hot work etc.
- Perform uptime and downtime inspections lubrications and preventative maintenance
- Troubleshoot and perform corrective work on all mechanical systems within the facility
- Identify and execute improvements on equipment documentation work systems and processes
- Collaborates with different levels of employees in various departments of the facility on continuous improvement ideas
- Work with planners to research system and component specifications using equipment manuals schematics parts breakdowns online information and vendor communication
- Dismantle and reassemble complex pieces of machinery such as conveyors shakers piece removers cutters leaf eliminators pumps sizers brushers valves piping and peeler/polishers in an efficient precise and reliable manner
- Operates cutting welding and various other fabrication equipment to cut form and/or join materials
- Escalate technical procedural and personnel related issues to direct lead or supervisor as necessary
- Work with moral integrity on a consistent basis
- Performs other assigned duties and projects
WHAT WERE LOOKING FOR
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Two years of experience in related industry
- Candidates must have a verifiable history of safe vehicle operation and meet company standards for driving eligibility. This includes maintaining a clean driving record which will be verified through a background check.
- To ensure a safe and productive workplace candidates for this position must demonstrate a consistent commitment to safety. Any history of incidents including recent convictions for driving under the influence (DUI) within the past two years will be evaluated on a casebycase basis to determine potential impact on the candidates ability to safely perform the essential duties of the job.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts on continuous sevenday cycle
- Ability to pay attention to detail and be thorough when completing work tasks
- Ability to use hand tools and trades type tools
- Ability to read and understand equipment and technical manuals
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted during the course of assigned responsibilities
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5 or more years of experience in related field
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Environmental exposure to wet and humid conditions
- Material exposure moving mechanical parts
- Occasional exposure to fumes airborne particles toxic or caustic chemicals
- Must be able to lift/pushpull/carry up to 50 lbs
- Must be able to stand and walk for an extended period of time
- Must be able to ascend and descend ladders and steps throughout the shift
HOURS & WORKDAYS:
- 1st Shift Friday through Tuesday from 07:00 AM to 3:30 PM; Overtime Weekends and Holidays may be mandatory based on business needs. Rotating workday/time off schedules may be mandatory depending on department/business needs as well.
