Coordinator of Honors Student Engagement

This position will assist with the development and implementation of the Hicks Honors Colleges cocurricular programs and promote Honors student community belonging and engagement. This Coordinator will collaborate with faculty staff and students in developing and overseeing Honors enrichment activities in the Honors Residence Hall and on campus manage related social media and communications and help to assess student engagement.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Coordinate Learning Experiences in the new Honors Residence Hall
    Collaborate with the Assistant Director to develop Honors Learning Experiences (HLEs) in the new Residence Hall with primary responsibility for managing event logistics promotion and compliance with Housing. Collaborate with the Assistant Director Graduate Assistants and Honors Ambassadors to maintain a calendar of campus and community events for Honors Symposium. Help to collect and assess participation data in Honors Learning Experiences (HLEs).
  • Serve as Primary Liaison to Housing and LCAs
    Maintain clear communication with UNF Housing and Learning Community Assistants to ensure smooth scheduling updates and support for Honors Living Learning Communities.
  • Oversee Honors Ambassadors and Support Honors Recruiting
    Assist the Assistant Director in leading a small team of highachieving undergraduates from various colleges who will represent Honors by tabling at recruitment events and networking with academic departments. Serve as the staff liaison for the Honors Student Union.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Support Major Honors Events
    Assist with planning and coordination for key Honors events such as Honors Orientation Honors Retreat Family Weekend endofterm showcases Senior Celebrations and recruitment sessions.
  • Mentor and Support Honors Students
    Serve as an Honors liaison to Academic Advising and as an Honors resource for students with general mentoring and advising questions. Keep regular office hours for student mentoring.
  • General Support for Honors Operations
    Attend staff meetings contribute to planning assist with emergent needs daytoday logistics data collection and analysis to help optimize integrate and plan the many dimensions of the Honors program.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Departmental Requirements

  • Excellent oral written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Have personal experience in a university Honors program and/or extensive experience with cocurricular college programs like clubs societies leadership student government etc.
  • Enjoy handson and creative work with students outside the classroom.
  • Must have strong interpersonal time management and organizational skills.
  • Applicants should be interested in learning about Housing and Residence Life and/or Academic Advising.
  • Experienced in facilitating group processes to foster student collaborative decisionmaking.

Required Qualifications:

This position requires either (a) Masters degree from an acceptable accredited institution in a directly related area of specialization; (b) Bachelors degree from an acceptable accredited institution in a directly related area of specialization and two years of experience directly related to the job functions; or (c 6 years of direct experience.

This position has been designated as a CSA because it involves significant responsibility for student and campus activities and/or responsibility for campus security. As such any person in this position must report to the University Police Department a crime or an incident that might be a crime that he/she becomes aware of. This position has a reporting requirement because the University believes that responsibility for students campus activities and/or campus security will make the holder of this position someone members of the University community will see as an authority figure and someone to whom they can seek help. A CSA is not expected to investigate or determine whether a criminal incident actually took place. A CSA s responsibility is a duty to report. All positions designated as CSAs are required to complete an online or in person training session.
