Autistic & Emotional Special Education Teacher 35

The Environmental Charter School is seeking a highly dedicated and motivated individual to join our Special Education team beginning with the 202526 school year. This position is based in one building working with a relatively small caseload of candidates must be progressive minded and embody a cando spirit and work ethic. OVERVIEW
The ECS Autistic & Emotional Special Education Teacher is an intervention specialist focused on supporting special education students success and socialemotional growth in an inclusive setting. Working collaboratively with special
education teachers general education teachers education assistants paraprofessionals building specialists and the Campus Leadership Team the ECS Autistic & Emotional Special Education Teacher provides the comprehensive socialemotional support that students need in order to participate in the rigorous and engaging learning opportunities within the classroom. Special education teachers work to ensure all students in the building are supported through case management across or within grade levels as determined by the Campus Leadership.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Develop and deliver Autistic Emotional and/or Life Skills programming to students in individual or small group settings
  • Provide individualized targeted social/emotional/behavioral interventions to individuals or groups of students that address specific areas of need outlined in their IEPs or through the school wide MTSS program
  • Facilitate a positive achievementoriented and structured learning environment in which all students can experience success
  • Implement schoolwide behavior management policies and Bullying Prevention program within classrooms and throughout the school
  • Serve as a building level expert in behavior management through sharing and modeling strategies as well as data collection and consultation with teams of teachers and the Campus Leadership Team
  • Collaborate with parents administrators school psychologist and other professionals to develop individualized education programs (IEPs)
  • Create Positive Behavior Support Plans (PBSPs) assist with Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) as needed and collect data around the effectiveness of plans
  • Serve as the case manager for a select number of students with Emotional Support and Autistic Support IEPs and communicate regularly with families to share and behavioral progress and develop a supportive homeschool relationship
  • Maintain accurate and complete student records and prepare reports required by laws district policies and administrative regulations in a timely and professional manner
  • Collect and maintain data to track student progress drive individualized instruction and to design academic interventions
Educational Background and Work Experience
  • Bachelors degree from an accredited institution and PA Special Education certification
  • At least 3 years of experience teaching (Emotional Support / Autistic Support experience preferred)
  • Behavioral certifications preferred
  • Familiarity with charter schools and elementary age students
Compensation and Benefits
Minimum starting salary of $44716 up to a maximum of $51056 contingent upon prior years teaching experience plus $1000 special education supplement. Additional compensation may be awarded for highly qualified individuals.
