Job Description

Location: Lewisham

Position Type:Permanent

Start Date:September 2025

A wellestablished primary school in Lewisham is looking for a passionate and experienced Year 6 Teacher to join their team from September 2025. The school is committed to providing a high standard of education and nurturing the personal growth of every student. The successful candidate will be an integral part of the team helping Year 6 students excel academically and transition smoothly to secondary school.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and creative lessons that align with the National Curriculum ensuring Year 6 students achieve their academic goals and develop a love for learning.
  • Provide targeted SATs preparation ensuring students feel confident and prepared for their assessments.
  • Create an inclusive safe and stimulating learning environment that fosters personal and academic growth.
  • Regularly assess student progress and adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of all learners.
  • Work collaboratively with other teachers and support staff to create an effective and cohesive learning experience.
  • Communicate with parents and carers providing feedback and offering guidance on how they can support their childs learning.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience teaching Year 6 or within Key Stage 2.
  • A strong understanding of SATs preparation and the ability to support students in their final year of primary school.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
  • A commitment to inclusive education and helping students reach their full potential.
