Job Summary:
At Genesys our Cloud Analytics platform powers critical decisions that shape exceptional customer experiences. As a Senior Data Engineer in the Batch Analytics team you will lead the development and operation of largescale EMR pipelines using Spark and Airflow processing petabytes of data daily. You will play a pivotal role in building scalable reliable data products and tools that drive the future of customer experience.

Responsibilities:

• Build and manage largescale data pipelines using Spark and Airflow within AWS environments.

• Design and deploy highly available faulttolerant software to enhance the reliability performance and efficiency of the Genesys Cloud Analytics platform.

• Engineer scalable architectures across all stages of the data lifecycle (ingestion storage search aggregation) to support diverse applications.

• Develop reusable developer tooling and abstractions to enable selfservice pipeline creation for engineering teams.

• Build deploy maintain and automate global deployments using AWS services and Ansible.

• Troubleshoot production issues identify root causes and implement robust solutions.

• Review code mentor junior engineers and foster a collaborative learningfocused environment.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience engineering scalable systems using big data technologies such as Hadoop Spark Hive Presto or Elasticsearch.

• Strong software engineering background with the ability to design systems from the ground up.

• Expertise in Java; proficiency in Python or other objectoriented languages is a plus.

• Experience building and operating largescale distributed systems on cloud infrastructure preferably AWS.

• A productfocused mindset energized by building solutions that will be widely used.

• Enthusiasm for mentoring and collaborating with junior team members.

• Adaptability and openness to exploring new technologies and rapid prototyping.

• Strong emphasis on maintainability testability observability and automation in design.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with building immutable machine images using Ansible.

• Deep understanding of automation practices including CI/CD pipelines automated scaling testing and healing.

• Practical experience with orchestration tools such as Airflow.

• Familiarity with DynamoDB Elasticsearch Presto and S3 for query and storage solutions.

• Commitment to selecting the best tools for each job rather than relying on past practices.
