We recognize the role that selection inventory and managing constraints plays in creating a worldclass customer experience driving business growth and lowering our Cost to Serve. We continuously innovate and set new standards for supply chain excellence by constantly enriching the data models and our north star measurements through internal and external data sources. As a Data Scientist on the AIM team you will design quantitative systems forecasting models and solve real world problems using the latest machine learning techniques. You will also work with a team of Product Managers Business Intelligence Engineers and Software Engineers to research and build solutions to provide insights to business leaders at the most senior levels throughout the company.
Key job responsibilities You will partner with scientists economists and engineers to propose prototype analyze implement and deliver to production a variety of data science initiatives related to Amazon Business. You will develop a comprehensive understanding of Amazon Business (AB) supply chain processes and make use of rich data to make inferences about AB customer behavior. You will propose analyze and communicate the results of experiments that measure causal effects of AB selection with great autonomy. You will define create and present metrics that deepen our understanding of how customers interact with our offerings. You will creatively translate our collected data into initiatives with measurable impacts on customer satisfaction and AB growth. You will define team data science processes and mentor your colleagues in the art of data science. You will articulate the results of your model in business language to stakeholders.
7 years of data scientist or similar role involving data extraction analysis statistical modeling and communication experience Masters degree in a quantitative field such as statistics mathematics data science business analytics economics finance engineering or computer science 5 years of data querying languages (e.g. SQL) scripting languages (e.g. Python) or statistical/mathematical software (e.g. R SAS Matlab etc. experience
2 years of data visualization using AWS QuickSight Tableau R Shiny etc. experience Experience managing data pipelines Experience as a leader and mentor on a data science team
