Job Description Summary

This position will be located at the East Hanover NJ site and will not have the ability to be located remotely. This position will require travel as defined by the business (domestic and/ or international).

The Director NPS Process Improvement is responsible for supporting the ongoing evaluation of key programs and processes for NPS across the portfolio and ensuring successful implementation through crossfunctional partnership within and outside the organization. This includes program oversight and responsibility for of a department of 200 individuals in both Field and HQ roles as well as 30 vendor programs spanning $200M in spend and 800 external head count working on behalf of Novartis across the Pharma portfolio.

The Director will establish a continuous improvement / lean six sigma management capability in the respective PSS Franchise and their associated vendors. They will be responsible for operational excellence reviews for their respective NPS Disease Area programs (e.g. Hub reimbursement SP enhanced services Adherence Copay Compliance and Analytics) by applying Six Sigma methods and overall best operating practices (ensure process robustness reduce variability implement first time right preventative measures process flowing etc..



Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create vision strategy and goals acting as a champion to achieve a culture of disruptive improvement and excellence across the portfolio of patient support programs and services
  • Identify develop and drive process improvement projects across all NPS teams to achieve reduction in costs improvements in quality faster throughput/turnaround/cycle times and overall operational excellence
  • Lead a team who will drive immediate operational enhancements through shortterm actions with lasting impact across all NPS functional areas and business processes
  • Provide ongoing support to NPS operational teams to ensure training and productivity metrics are aligned to process improvements
  • Promote and lead activities for streamlining processes and determining root causes of inefficiencies using Lean Six Sigma methods (Value Stream Mapping 5Whys/Cause Mapping FMEA SIPOC) and provide overall operational excellence best practices
  • Develop continuous improvement/lean six sigma capabilities across the NPS organization through Yellow Belt training and certification programs to further enhance business outcomes
  • Develop and maintain expertlevel knowledge of various methodologies regulations processes timelines and general approach underlying the Companys current and potential products/support services

Essential Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelors degree in a business or quantitative field required or equivalent experience Masters degree in related field preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in commercially related operational excellence related roles and/or running operations products programs or services in pharmaceuticals (e.g. hubs) health plans PBMs or other healthcare industries preferred. patient support services a plus
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or Master Black Belt certification
  • Ability to multitask meet tight deadlines and presentation skills with experience presenting to both internal and external client senior management
  • Experience with coordinating cross functional teams such as sales marketing and market access with diverse skill sets (e.g. technical clinical operations etc. and the of large scale multidisciplinary projects
  • Strong leadership communication/influencing planning/organization analytical/problemsolving and interpersonal skills to effectively convey management needs to colleagues and functions throughout the company
  • Experience in vendor engagement process mapping/analysis/implementation change management and project management data analysis experience
  • Prior people leadership experience

Desirable Requirements:

  • Patient and Specialty Services and Change Management experience/certification
  • Prior consulting experience in healthcare
  • Specialty product/portfolio experience with a strong ability to collaborate and work crossfunctionally within a matrix environment

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $185500and $344500 per year; however while salary ranges are effective from 1/1/25 through 12/31/25 fluctuations in the job market may necessitate adjustments to pay ranges during this period. Further final pay determinations will depend on various factors including but not limited to geographical location experience level knowledge skills and abilities. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements including a signon bonus restricted stock units and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits such as vacation sick time and parental leave) dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired employee will be in an atwill position and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time including for reasons related to individual performance Company or individual department/team performance and market factors.
