The role:
We are seeking a dynamic & technically handson Engineering Manager in Sydney to lead & grow highperforming engineering teams delivering robust data & AI platform capabilities. You will play a pivotal role in building scalable data infrastructure driving realtime & batch processing innovation & operationalising AI/ML solutions. This role requires deep technical knowledge people leadership agile delivery expertise & a strong alignment with strategic business outcomes.
Top Role Accountabilities:
- Lead multiple engineering squads across Cloud Data Infrastructure Streaming & ML Platform Engineering
- Design build & manage scalable secure & reusable data processing frameworks (realtime batch and streaming)
- Collaborate closely with the Head of Engineering DAP to execute on enterprise data strategy & platform vision
- Ensure the delivery of highquality engineering outputs using modern DevSecOps CI/CD & infrastructureascode practices
- Drive continuous improvement in performance resilience costefficiency & observability of data platforms
- Recruit mentor & coach engineering talent fostering a culture of ownership innovation & inclusion
- Manage stakeholder expectations & balance technical excellence with timely delivery
- Partner with data scientists product managers architects & security teams to build integrated platform solutions
To be successful you will have:
- 10 years of experience in software/data engineering including 3 years in Data / Analytics / AI engineering leadership roles
- Experience in regulated industries such as banking insurance or telecommunications
- Familiarity with AI/ML toolchains (Dataiku Azure ML MLFlow etc..
- Background in supporting realtime decisioning systems & analyticsdriven customer platforms
- Detailed understanding of Data & related Infrastructure development or Software Development Lifecycle
- Proven ability to inspire lead develop manage & motivate a team of professionals to achieve depart departmental objectives
- Proven experience in building & scaling enterprisegrade data platforms & cloudnative services
- Deep technical expertise in Azure Cloud Kafka/Streaming Spark/Flink Data Lake/Delta Lake & ML Ops pipelines
- Solid understanding of data governance security observability & compliance frameworks
- Demonstrated success in agile delivery within crossfunctional teams & matrixed environments
- Strong communication stakeholder management & people development skills.
