Job Description
Amazon is looking for talented Postdoctoral Scientists to join our team for a oneyear fulltime research position. Postdoctoral Scientists will innovate in key areas of machine learning natural language processing computer vision automated reasoning robotics or quantum technologies.
Within Pricing and Promotions Science the Product Intelligence team leverages billionscale multimodal data on billions of Amazon and external competitor products to build advanced machine learning models for product pricing similarity substitutability pricinginput error detection pricinginput error correction and probabilistic price estimation. As part of this mission we investigate mechanisms to identify the keyproduct features that drive pricing. Through these models we preserve long term customer trust by ensuring Amazons prices are always competitive and error free.
We experiment and innovate relentlessly. Science is core in our offering to shoppers advertisers and customers. Our scientists apply machine learning optimization causal modeling and game theory at scale to enhance the customer experience help advertisers reach relevant audiences and support brand building. We are seeking talented scientists to invent cuttingedge techniques in a variety of areas and innovate on behalf of shoppers advertisers and customers.
In this role you will:
* Work closely with a senior science advisor collaborate with other scientists and engineers and be part of Amazons vibrant and diverse global science community.
* Publish your innovation in toptier academic venues and hone your presentation skills.
* Be inspired by challenges and opportunities to invent cuttingedge techniques in your area(s) of expertise.
* PhD in a relevant field received within 2 years of starting the program
* Proven publication record in Machine Learning Robotics Computer Vision AI Computer Science Econ Operations Research or other related technical fields
* Experience in data science and quantitative research
* Proficiency in technologies relevant to the subfield
* Ability to independently deliver results in a fastpaced environment
* Publications at toptier peerreviewed conferences and/or journals
* Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
* Expert knowledge in modeling and performance operationalization and scalability of scientific techniques and establishing decision strategies

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity signon payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
