About the Job:

Take off on an exciting career path as a General Accountant and be responsible for managing and overseeing global tax compliance planning and reporting activities while also handling general accounting tasks. This role involves working across multiple jurisdictions not only in the Philippines but also in Australia North America Canada Germany and other EMEA and MAA regions ensuring tax obligations are met efficiently and accurately. In addition the accountant supports the finance team with tasks such as journal entries reconciliations and financial reporting. A strong knowledge of international tax laws and solid expertise in general accounting practices are essential for this position.

Scope & Responsibilities:
Tax Compliance and Reporting

  • Global Tax Compliance: Ensure adherence to corporate tax regulations across multiple jurisdictions covering U.S. and international tax filings such as VAT GST corporate income tax and withholding tax.
  • Tax Return Preparation: Prepare and/or review tax returns including income tax VAT/GST and withholding tax and other taxes for various countries.
  • Transfer Pricing: Preparation and recording of transfer pricing calculations. Assist in preparing transfer pricing documentation and ensure global compliance with transfer pricing regulations.
  • Tax Research and Advisory: Conduct research on tax regulations and compliance requirements across different countries providing guidance on tax planning opportunities.
  • Tax Provision & Reporting: Support the preparation of quarterly and annual tax provisions including deferred tax assets/liabilities and tax footnotes for financial statements.
  • Tax Audits and Disputes: Manage and assist with tax audits inquiries and disputes ensuring timely resolution and full compliance with legal requirements.
  • Tax Strategy and Planning: Contribute to the development and of international tax strategies identifying opportunities for tax optimization and risk mitigation.

General Accounting

  • MonthEnd Close: Contribute to the monthly quarterly and annual financial close process ensuring all relevant tax and accounting services are accurately posted and completed on time.
  • Journal Entries: Prepare and post general ledger journal entries including accruals prepayments and intercompany transactions.
  • Account Reconciliations: Perform and review balance sheet account reconciliations including taxrelated accounts (e.g. tax liabilities VAT receivables/payables and tax provision accounts).
  • Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP or IFRS ensuring accurate representation of tax positions and related disclosures.
  • General Ledger Maintenance: Ensure the integrity of the general ledger by maintaining accuracy and completeness of taxrelated financial transactions and other assigned accounts.
  • MultiBooks: Preparation of book specific journal entries and maintenance of Balance Sheet reconciliation schedules.

CrossFunctional Collaboration

  • Internal Stakeholders: Work closely with finance ELTs and employees to ensure tax planning reporting and compliance strategies are aligned with overall business objectives.
  • External Stakeholders: Liaise with external tax advisors auditors and legal counsel on complex tax issues audits and reporting requirements.
  • Business Units: Offer taxrelated guidance and support to various departments and global business units regarding transactions contracts and operational matters.

Process Improvement

  • Automation and Efficiency: Support the optimization of tax compliance and reporting processes by utilizing technology and automation tools.
  • Policies and Procedures: Create and refine internal tax policies and procedures to stay aligned with changing tax laws and regulations.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities to enhance the efficiency accuracy and compliance of accounting and tax processes.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in accounting finance or a related discipline.
  • At least 57 years of experience in tax accounting encompassing global tax compliance and general accounting.
  • A solid understanding of global tax regulations including corporate income tax VAT/GST withholding taxes transfer pricing and tax treaties.
  • Proficient in general accounting principles financial reporting and monthend close procedures. Familiarity with GAAP or IFRS is crucial.
  • Strong problemsolving and analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex tax legislation and financial data.
  • Experience with accounting and tax software such as SAP and Netsuite. Advanced proficiency in MS Excel is required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities capable of clearly conveying tax and accounting concepts to nonexperts.
  • A high degree of accuracy and meticulous attention to detail in both tax compliance and general accounting tasks.
  • Flexibility or dynamic person. With positive attitude/willingness when it comes to a very demanding environment in terms of quality and timebound requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA CA or equivalent qualification is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in a public accounting firm or a multinational corporation is advantageous.
  • Experience in a global multicurrency environment.
  • Knowledge of AASB15 and AASB16.
