Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Sr. Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. This position is responsible for diagnosing repairing and maintaining large dieselpowered mining equipment including equipment from leading brands such as CAT and Komatsu. The ideal candidate brings a strong mechanical background in mining environments welding skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose troubleshoot and perform repairs on heavy mobile mining equipment
- Conduct preventative maintenance including oil changes brake inspections and hydraulic repairs
- Perform welding and fabrication work as needed
- Replace ground engaging tools and other highwear components
- Maintain service logs and maintenance records electronically
- Operate mobile equipment when necessary to support site operations
- Provide technical guidance to equipment operators
- Manage parts inventory and order supplies
- Follow all safety protocols including lockout/tagout procedures
- Support equipment operations and repairs with a strong focus on safety and quality workmanship
Requirements:
- 7 years of experience maintaining heavy mining equipment
- Strong experience with CAT and/or Komatsu equipment
- High school diploma GED or equivalent experience required
- Trade school or technical certifications preferred
- CDL license preferred or willingness to obtain within 90 days
- Valid drivers license and clean driving record
- Basic welding and fabrication skills
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds work in confined spaces and perform outdoor work in all weather conditions
- Willingness to complete OSHA 10 and MSHA certifications
Compensation and Benefits:
- Competitive hourly pay $35 $37/hr depending on experience)
