JOB OVERVIEW:
Job Title: Sports Medicine Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
Job Type: Locum Tenens
Location: Canton and Woodstock GA
Service Setting: Outpatient
Coverage Type: Clinical Only
Coverage Period: 08/01/2025 12/01/2025
Clinical Shift Schedule: Mon Thu 8:00 AM 5:00 PM; Fri 8:00 AM 1:00 PM
COVERAGE DATES:
08/01/2025 12/01/2025
PATIENT INFORMATION:
Patient Demographics: Adults
Patient Volume/Census: 20 25 patients per day (postoperative and followup)
Case Mix: Upper orthopedic extremity cases (postoperative followups)
FACILITY INFORMATION:
EMR System: Epic
Specialty Backup Available: Orthopedic Surgery
Reason for Coverage: Supplemental
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
Rate: TBD
Travel Lodging and Malpractice Insurance: Covered
REQUIRED PROCEDURES:
Orthopedic clinical evaluations
Postoperative patient management
Followup assessments
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Licenses: Active Georgia license
Board: Certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
DEA: Active DEA Certification
Certifications: BLS
Experience: Highly preferred orthopedic experience
Other Qualifications: Proficiency with EMR systems preferred
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work closely with orthopedic specialist
Manage postoperative and followup visits
Conduct patient evaluations and provide orthopedic care
Document patient encounters and treatment plans
Coordinate patient care with the medical team
