We are seeking an experienced Senior BackEnd Software Engineer (COBOL) to join a dynamic and crossfunctional development team. In this role you will play a crucial part in maintaining enhancing and modernizing missioncritical banking systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in COBOL development within mainframe environments and will contribute to performance optimization and system integration efforts. Responsibilities
- Develop and Maintain: Design develop and maintain COBOLbased applications that support essential business functions.
- System Integration: Work with crossfunctional teams to integrate COBOL systems with modern technologies ensuring operational efficiency.
- Optimize Performance: Enhance the performance and scalability of existing mainframe systems to meet increasing business demands.
- Problem Solving: Troubleshoot issues analyze system inefficiencies and implement effective solutions.
- Documentation: Maintain clear technical documentation to facilitate knowledge transfer and system continuity.
- Collaboration: Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to the development of best practices for software engineering.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to industry regulations security policies and company coding standards.
Requirements
MustHaves:
- 6 years of experience in backend software development using COBOL in enterprise environments.
- Expertise in batch processing and transactionbased systems.
- Proficiency in mainframe environments particularly IBM z/OS.
- Handson experience with JCL (Job Control Language) and DB2 databases.
- Knowledge of CICS (Customer Information Control System).
- Strong debugging optimization and enhancement skills for COBOL applications.
- Understanding of Agile development methodologies and SDLC (Software Development Lifecycle).
- Experience with version control systems like Git.
