Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for geoscience and geological services excellence Join Sunwater as a Geologist where youll play a vital role in in the planning safe of evaluating and reporting on geological investigations for water infrastructure projects. You will help with the analysis of geological and geophysical data preparing geological sections and reports for dam safety reviews.
As a Geologist at Sunwater you will:
- Provide effective detailed stateoftheart geotechnical services for water related infrastructure which are high quality economically viable and safe to undertake
- Applying relevant ANCOLD guidelines and addressing technical considerations when undertaking geotechnical investigations for new and existing large dams
- Managing consultants and liaising with stakeholders to achieve required design outcomes
- Maintain uptodate knowledge of geotechnical engineering technology advancements data acquisition techniques and methods of data management to assist in the development of new systems methods and geotechnical investigation procedures.
We are seeking a talented individual with 2 5 years experience in geotechnical and geological investigations You will hold tertiary qualifications in Applied Science (Geology) or other equivalent qualifications from a recognised tertiary institution. You will also bring:
- Excellent Communication skills: Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills including consulting collaborating negotiating and delivering complex written technical reports
- Safety orientated: Completing or contributing to high quality safety related documentation (SLAMs SWMSs Risk Assessments etc. and reporting hazards and near misses
- Analytical skills: Welldeveloped practical understanding of geological data gathering techniques such as geological mapping borehole logging petrography and geophysical surveys
