Job Description
Work.
As the Operator Maintainer you will be responsible for water distribution and system monitoring activities as well as maintenance refurbishment and enhancement of infrastructure. You will be required to schedule operate and control water distribution activities to meet Customer Standards of Service.
In addition you will:
- Undertake fault analysis of operational and maintenance issues
- Maintain surveillance of water supply infrastructure
- Complete all administrative tasks associated with the duties and responsibilities of the position
- Have a basic understanding and awareness of Environmental requirements
- Support and assist with emergency response or flood operations
Due to the nature of this role there will be a need to participate in a 1 in 2 oncall roster. Please also note that this role is based at BjelkePetersen Dam with the requirement to travel around some of our assets.
We are seeking candidates with experience in water construction / civil environment or asset infrastructure operations with the ability to organise and prioritise own tasks. You will have experience developing and implementing solutions to routine problems operate effectively in a changing environment and apply safe and environmentally responsible work practices.
In addition you will be able to demonstrate:
- Ability to obtain Certificate 3 Water Operations
- Basic Administration / Computer skills
- Class C drivers licence for manual vehicle
- Mechanical aptitude (highly desirable)
- Operators must be physically fit to perform the manual task requirements of the position be able to swim work in confined spaces and work at heights
