Position Overview
The Production Support Engineer will play a crucial role in maintaining the reliability and performance of trading platforms. This position involves working closely with developers traders and operations teams to troubleshoot issues and optimize system performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and support production trading systems to ensure high availability and performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues in a timely manner minimizing downtime and impact on trading operations.
- Collaborate with development teams to identify and implement solutions for recurring issues.
- Conduct root cause analysis for incidents and recommend preventive measures.
- Develop and maintain operational documentation including runbooks and incident reports.
- Assist in the deployment and release management processes for trading applications.
- Participate in oncall rotation to provide 24/7 support for critical trading infrastructure.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related field.
- 3 years of experience in production support preferably in a financial services or trading environment.
- Strong understanding of systematic trading concepts and market operations.
- Proficient in scripting languages (e.g. Python Bash) for automation and monitoring purposes.
- Familiarity with trading systems order management systems and platforms.
- Experience with incident management tools and monitoring solutions (e.g. Nagios Grafana).
- Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills with attention to detail.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of cloud technologies and DevOps practices.
- Experience with databases (e.g. SQL NoSQL) and data analysis.
- Understanding of network protocols and system architecture in trading environments.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
