Job Description

Classification Title:

Student Financial Aid CRD II

Job Description:

This position supports student employment programs. Responsibilities include assisting departments with hiring and payroll processes overseeing state and federal work programs and ensuring compliance with regulations. Strong organizational communication and problemsolving skills are essential.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Student Employment Support

  • Assist departments with hiring student assistants processing job postings payroll issues and job changes.
  • Review and correct system data errors authorize student hires and ensure required documentation is completed.
  • Respond to inquiries about the Federal Work Study program including eligibility appointment procedures and guidelines.
  • Manage incoming inquiries via email and phone.

Community & State Employment Programs

  • Partner with community service agencies to expand student employment opportunities and support hiring and payroll processes.
  • Oversee the Florida Work Experience Program (FWEP) including funding requests student awards and account reconciliation.
  • Assess student employment eligibility for federal state and institutional aid programs and update records accordingly.

Financial Aid & Other Responsibilities

  • Assist with processing transient applications and awarding scholarships and aid in compliance with regulations.
  • Ensure proper distribution of financial aid funds based on program eligibility.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Occasionally travel for financial aid presentations and professional development workshops.

This position is located at the University of Floridas main campus in Gainesville FL and may be eligible for a flexible hybrid work arrangement in accordance with the University of Florida and Division of Enrollment Managements policies.

Expected Salary:

$47500 annually

Minimum Requirements:

Masters degree in an appropriate area; or a bachelors degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Student financial aid experience and knowledge of federal regulations as they relate to the Federal Work Study Program.
  • Excellent interpersonal organizational and communication skills with an emphasis on attention to detail; demonstrates an ability to provide excellent customer service; exercise good judgment; and understand interpret and consistently apply laws rules policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge and understanding of human resources procedures and system.
