POSITION FUNCTION:
The Early Childhood Educator (ECE) provides childcare and educational programming for children and parents/caregivers enrolled in the program and works with the staff team to deliver a high quality ageappropriate program based on the MOSAIC Play Based Curriculum.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge: Programming and childcare issues; BC Childcare ServicesPolicy and Standards manual; Canadian childcare standards development needs of children needs and interests of children from diverse communities who face barriers asimmigrants/refugees and specific knowledge related to the function or the focus of the program project or service
Education/Certifications: Completion of high school Early Childhood Education Certificate and BC license to practice or equivalent Some positions also require the Infant and Toddler Certificate Food Safe Certificate an asset Sign Language Certificate an asset Special Needs Certificate and License an asset
Skills/Abilities
Experience: More than one year of experience in evaluating and developing curriculum materials providing activities and facilitating playbased activities for children and their parents/caregivers; work with immigrant populations and/or diverse cultural backgrounds and/or comparable education or other program or project specialties
Physical Requirements: Sitting standing bending and ability to lift 10 k.
Other: Current satisfactory Criminal Record Check Uptodate immunization record and TB test
HOURS: Part Time 7 hours on Tuesdays 9 am to 5 pm
Candidate must be able to commute to Burnaby Lougheed area
BENEFITS:
