About the position
This newly created role is focused on promoting excellence in clinical care and embedding best practices across residential aged care services. The role is primarily clinically facing 80 taking direction from and working closely with the Regional Clinical Services Manager. The role has been designed to strengthen clinical outcomes lead coaching and mentoring initiatives assist with feedback management support the daily running of the aged care home and support the implementation of key quality improvement activities and compliance.
The Clinical Operations Manager also provides operational insight and support 20 to the Regional Operations Services Manager enabling a connected approach to service delivery and continuous improvement across the precinct.
While primarily located at one home this role may be required to travel periodically within the connected precinct and will work collaboratively with relevant internal and external stakeholders from both Corporate and Operational services.

Based at Umina Park the Clinical Operations Manager duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following
Clinical Focus 80
- Attend or facilitate Heads of Department meetings / stand up huddles for safe practice
- Lead and model evidencebased clinical care and decision making
- Coach and mentor clinical and care staff to coordinate skill development care planning and documentation.
- Coordinate complex case management including escalation assessment and multidisciplinary collaboration including GP rounds.
- Conduct regular clinical audits review of care plans medication practices and incident response processes in alignment to compliance of the strengthen aged care standards.
- Identify and respond to clinical risk in alignment with OneCares governance framework escalating concerns to the Regional Clinical Services Manager.
- Contribute to clinical systems and digital tools training (e.g. AutumnCare electronic medication management).
- Assist with rostering care minute ANACC activities working collaboratively with key stakeholders from Corporate and Operational teams.
Operational Focus 20
- Support the Regional Operations Services Manager by providing insight into daytoday service operations.
- Collaborate on continuous improvement initiatives that require clinical and operational alignment.
- Contribute to planning coordination and implementation of residential services including admission readiness and service transitions.
- Problem solves operational issues and escalate complex issues to the Regional Operational Services Manager where appropriate.

Essential
- Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
- Significant clinical experience in residential aged care including complex care planning.
- Knowledge of aged care and NDIS Quality Standards
- Current Australian National Police Check that meets the requirements of the Aged Care Act.
Desirable:
- Proven record and experience as a clinical manager in residential care services
- Understanding of the interface between clinical and operations in a precinct model.
- High level leadership and conflict management skills
- Demonstrated ability to develop and lead teams effectively (including coach / mentoring)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of aged care and NDIS Quality Standards.
- Experience using clinical information systems and digital documentation tools.
- Current Covid and influenza vaccination record.
