Job Description

  • Provide academic leadership in the delivery of highquality student centred teaching in paramedicine courses
  • Grow the research portfolio and culture in the discipline and develop and maintain meaningful relationships with community government and industry bodies
  • Generous relocation assistance provided to support relocation to beautiful Bathurst or Port Macquarie.

The role

  • Continuing Full Time (held concurrently with Associate Head role for an initial period of up to 3 years)
  • Level D AUD162474 pa to AUD178876(plus allowances and 17 superannuation)
  • Level E AUD 208956 pa (plus allowances and 17 superannuation)
  • Bathurst or Port Macquarie

We are currently seeking an inspiring leader in the field of paramedicine to provide leadership in paramedicine research education and community engagement. You will be a leader in promoting excellence in the Schools teaching research scholarly and professional activities and supporting other academic staff. You will deliver teaching to undergraduate and postgraduate students in the Paramedicine courses using blended modes of subject delivery and grow the research profile of the discipline.

The successful candidate will be expected to progress an active research profile relevant to paramedicine and aligned to the Schools strategic direction.

To be successful in this role you will have proven outstanding leadership and stakeholder engagement capabilities with a demonstrated commitment to upholding the Universitys values a track record in outstanding research and teaching expertise.

As the Associate Head of School Paramedicine you will have academic staff supervision and delegated portfolio responsibilities that align with an identified set of strategic and management objectives within a specific discipline portfolio. When delegated you will be authorised to act for and on behalf of the Head of School.

About you

  • A doctoral qualification relevant to paramedicine.
  • Current registration or eligibility for registration as a paramedic with the Paramedicine Board of Australia.
  • A record of academic achievement of national and/or international standing through outstanding contributions to teaching research and/or clinical innovation.
  • Significant experience in and comprehensive knowledge of the discipline area with capacity to develop and evaluate practice innovations.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide effective leadership and building people capability in an academic and clinical setting.
