Job Description

OVERVIEW

JOB PURPOSE

The Talent Management Partner will be accountable for the design development and implementation of talent management strategies programs and initiatives related to Leadership Development Learning and Development Performance Management Succession Planning and Workforce Planning to support the Law Societys business strategic objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Requires a 4year Bachelors Degree in Human Resources Organizational Development Business or a related field. Assets: Graduate studies in organizational psychology or organizational development or another related field. or a related discipline.
  • Certification in relevant areas such as change management (e.g. Prosci) leadership development or organizational behaviour are preferred.
  • Requires a minimum of 710 years of experience in talent management leadership development and/or organizational development.

Professional Knowledge:

  • Designing and facilitating programs related to leadership development team effectiveness performance management and other talent management interventions
  • Consultation influencing and partnerships with senior leaders to develop / execute people strategies and drive business performance.
  • Structuring simplifying and applying complex problems or concepts in an actiondriven business environment.
  • Project management skills to prioritize tasks when managing simultaneous projects.
  • Thought leadership and strategic thinking.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills (both virtual and inperson) and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of leaders and employees.
  • Effectively and quickly analyzing large amounts of data develop insights actions and compelling narrative.
  • Demonstrating inclusive behaviours by acting as a champion and advocate promoting and driving diversity equity and inclusive practices in talent management.
  • Vendor management to ensure delivery of intended outcomes.

Technical skills:

  • Microsoft Office Suite / 365 (Word Excel PowerPoint etc..
  • Human Resources information systems (HRIS) experience is an asset.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Supports the creation of the Law Societys Talent Management framework philosophy and integrated strategies that attract develop deploy and retain talent and achieve the Law Societys strategic objectives to meet current and future business needs.
  • Designs implements and assesses leadership development programs and initiatives aligned with organizational divisional and departmental needs.
  • Designs implements and assesses employee development programs and initiatives aligned with organizational divisional and departmental needs.
  • Defines implements and assesses succession management and deployment programs to ensure a robust and diverse pipeline of future leaders and specialized talent for critical roles and build organizational capability.
  • Assists with the review of the Performance Management philosophy and process including its integration with the HRIS system to implement best practices including goal setting development planning and meaningful feedback and coaching and advice on the performance management program to enable a high performance and highly engaging diverse culture.
  • Assists with the creation of strategic workforce planning strategies and processes to align talent needs with business goals and assist with organizational design initiatives that optimize structures and processes for efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders across the organization to deliver programs aligned with LSOs strategic objectives and enhance employee growth. Partners and collaborates with the Executive team Senior Leaders People Leaders and HR Business Partners to ensure programs align with strategic priorities and deliver measurable outcomes and effective solutions.
  • Monitors and measures the efficacy of talent solutions programs and processes and adjusts to continually improve and align to business needs.
  • Assists with the delivery of employee engagement and retention strategies and initiatives.

WORKING ARRANGEMENT

The Law Society has introduced a Distributed Workforce Model to leverage flexibility and agility and to maximize employee productivity and engagement. Work arrangements will be determined by role and departmental requirements. The working arrangement for this position has been classified as hybrid where the employee will regularly flex their work location between home and office.
