At Next we have a brilliant opportunity for an Nursery Apprentice to join our onsite Nursery at our Head Office in Enderby!
During your Apprenticeship you will gain the skills and knowledge to become a Level 3 Nursery Practitioner. You will be a part of creating a high quality and caring environment for children. This includes creating a warm friendly and stimulating atmosphere in which the children can develop emotionally socially and educationally through individual attention and group activities.
You will:
- Complete college assignments on time.
- Attend team meetings and contribute with ideas.
- Work under supervision to provide all aspects of care for children including washing changing and feeding.
- Assist with meeting the personal and emotional needs of individual children.
- Provide adult interaction with children in the nursery.
- Be aware of the nurseries confidentiality policy.
- Support all staff and engage in a good staff team.
- Attend ALL out of working hours activities e.g. training monthly staff meetings parents evenings sports day Christmas party etc.
- Contribute to good standards of hygiene and cleanliness in Nursery.
- Undertake such other duties and responsibilities of an equivalent nature as may be determined by the trainees supervisor from time to time.
- Look upon the nursery as a whole where can your help be most utilised be constantly aware of the needs of children.
- Ensure the provision of a high quality environment to meet the needs of individual children from differing cultures and religious backgrounds and stages of development.
- Uphold its standards at all times.
- Be aware of all emergency and fire evacuation procedures.
- Be aware of sections 7 & 8 of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
About you:
- Qualification in Maths and English
- Knowledge understanding and practical experience of day care for young children and the EYFS curriculum
- Awareness of purposeful planning for children in day care settings
- Ability to communicate confidently with a parents/carers
- Able to work independently and to manage own time efficiently
- Understanding of the role of the key person
- Proactive and selfmotivated
- Committed to giving children and families the opportunity to reach their full potential
- Ability to use initiative
- Calm under pressure
- Excellent organisational and time keeping skills.
- Passionate and enthusiastic about development in early years
- Able to keep accurate records
- Numerate and able to complete Key Skills in Application of Number at Level 1
- Able to implement high health and safety standards
Shift: Monday to Friday 9am 6pm
