JOB TITLE:

WRTBI Field Research Internship

JOB PURPOSE:

Intern for Wind River Tribal Buffalo Initiative

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

This Graduate Student Researcher Internship offers a unique opportunity to conduct impactful research for a tribal nonprofit organization during the summer. The intern will assist in fieldbased data collection literature review analysis and compiling information to support the academic research of the Wind River Tribal Buffalo Initiative. Their work will help the Initiative make informed decisions and assist staff with unique daytoday activities as they arise. Under the supervision of the Science Director the intern will gather data related to bison populations on the Wind River Indian Reservation and their surrounding ecosystems. This role emphasizes cultural reconnection community collaboration and effective communication while providing practical research experience. Strong analytical skills attention to detail and the ability to adapt to diverse field conditions are essential for success in this position.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Junior/senior or graduate student in college or TCU
  • Literature review analysis
  • Research and data experience
  • Presentations
  • Microsoft Office or Google suite
  • Being outside 60 of the time

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Tribal preference or experience working in tribal communities for 2 years
