A Day in the Life of a People and Culture Intern at Toole Design

As an Intern you will not be fetching coffee or sorting mail we want you here for real meaningful work. Youll spend 8 to 12 weeks working with our People and Culture team on a variety of fundamental Human Resources functions including supporting onboarding recruiting staff morale and compliance. This is a paid position.

Youll support the team to maintain and update HR records and databases assist with research and documentation and work on exciting HR projects and initiatives. Youll get the opportunity to join our intern cohort receive core trainings career advice and participate in an intern project. Best of all youll get to work with colleagues who love what they do and cant wait to help you develop your skills in the field we care so much about.

Work Schedule for a People and Culture Intern at Toole Design:

This fulltime position typically works a schedule of 40 hours a week with the ability to work one day a week at home. The Silver Spring office of Toole Design is our corporate headquarters. We are conveniently located just outside of Washington DC in downtown Silver Spring close to regional trails and networks on onstreet bike infrastructure two blocks from the Silver Spring Metrorail/MARC Station and bus depot. Our beautiful 8th floor suite offers stunning views of DC and surrounding Montgomery County. The office is easily accessed on foot by bicycle and via transit.

Hiring Process

For our summer internship we plan on collecting applications through May 7 2025. The interview process will include a virtual interview a writing sample and an opportunity to meet the team. We intend to make an offer by the end of May with the internship starting in June; if you have other scheduling needs please let us know in your application were flexible!

We are targeting a wage range of $22.00 to $24.00 per hour for this position.

Qualifications of a People and Culture Intern at Toole Design:

• Undergraduate: Current enrollment in Human Resources Business Administration Psychology or a related program
• Masters: Current or upcoming enrollment in a Master of Science in Human Resources Business Administration Psychology or a related program
• Recent graduate: Degree in a related field or demonstrated passion for the field
• Ability to quickly pick up new concepts skills and programs
• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality

It would be a plus if you have:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
• Customer service experience
• An understanding of HR principles and best practices
