About Health & Safety and the Role
The Health & Safety team ensure that we operate safe working environments for all THG employees and visitors. The team provide onsite support to ensure risks are managed in a timely fashion as well as completing audits and checks to so the business meets all health safety and environmentrelated legislative requirements. The team are also responsible for achieving and maintaining legal environmental compliance to safeguard the business from financial and reputational damage.
We are looking for a proactive and detailoriented Fulfilment Health and Safety Advisor to support the daytoday health safety and environmental activities at our fulfilment centre. This role is key in promoting a strong safety culture onsite ensuring that all employees operate in a safe compliant and environmentally responsible manner. You will work closely with the Fulfilment HSE Manager and site teams to carry out risk assessments deliver training conduct inspections and provide practical HSE advice on the ground.
Responsibilities:
- Support the implementation of sitespecific HSE policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular workplace inspections and audits to ensure compliance with legal and company standards.
- Assist with risk assessments safe systems of work and permittowork processes.
- Help investigate incidents and nearmisses ensuring accurate reporting and followup of corrective actions.
- Deliver HSE inductions toolbox talks and training sessions to promote safety awareness.
- Maintain accurate HSE records including incident logs training registers and inspection reports.
- Monitor the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure availability and compliance.
- Support the HSE Manager in preparing reports and contributing to monthly HSE performance reviews.
- Engage with employees on safety initiatives and encourage proactive hazard reporting.
- Stay uptodate with HSE legislation and best practice to advise operational teams effectively.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in an HSE role ideally within a warehouse logistics fulfilment or similar fastpaced environment.
- NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent HSE qualification essential.
- Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and risk management principles.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage and influence frontline teams.
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail and a proactive approach.
- Confident in delivering training and briefings to small groups.
- IT literate with experience in using Microsoft Office and HSE management systems.
- Team player with a handson attitude and a passion for promoting workplace safety.
