1.0 FTE Continuing Contract

Description:Plan develop and implement classroom instruction consistent with the OSPIapproved curriculum framework. This assignment may include more traditional science courses including but not limited to Ecosystems Biology Marine Biology or Biomedical Sciences as well as STEM courses including but not limited to Yearbook and introductory STEM/shop classes where students learn to use tools in a limited shop environment. The teacher is responsible for student learning classroombased assessment creation reporting progress to parents in a timely fashion and aligning curricula to state standards. This job is in a large comprehensive high school building with a focus on building relationships and collaboration to improve student learning. Maintain effective working relationships with school administrators staff community groups and volunteers. Attend building/district meetings and conferences as required. Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Valid Washington State Certification with appropriate endorsements and CTE certification in Skilled and Technical Sciences or sufficient occupations experience in Science Technology Engineering and Math to become CTE certified. Up to 6000 hours of teaching in a STEM subject can count for work experience. Workbased learning Certification desired. Attendance and punctuality are important functions of the job. May require prolonged sitting or standing.
