Job Description:
Maintains standards of professional nursing practice and coordinates total nursing care for patients undergoing various cardiovascular diagnostic and interventional procedures. Provides leadership by working collaboratively and cooperatively with other health care members. Considers specific age and cultural needs of the patient when providing care.

1. Adheres to all radiation safety issues
2. Adheres to NPSG 07.01.01 by effectively washing hands when going from one patient to the next.
Knowledgeable about patient safety and quality of care issues. Able to recognize safety issues in the department and handles incidents per institutional and/or departmental policies and procedures. If safety issues were identified; all issues were handled timely and appropriately.
Department education and training focus has a direct impact on patient safety and reduces unsafe working conditions for employees.
Employee attends and follows all department specific safety education and training in an effort to create a safe work environment.
1. Recognizes Frayed Cord:
Reports equipment dysfunction in timely manner.
Make sure alternate process is in place and action is taken.
Reduces adverse results or impact to patient care and the employee.
2. Recognize exposure to Blood:
Worked as a team to limit exposure and create a safe work environment.
Safety concerns: The manager has been timely with staff training and education.
Wiping up spills.
3. Follows standardized approach for handoff communication
Follows policy for communication including the opportunity to ask and respond to questions.
Minimum Qualifications:
Qualifications/Knowledge Skills & Abilities (Indicate minimum required to qualify or perform this job.
Required Education/Experience/Licensing:
1. Current RN licensure in the State of Ohio.
2. Previous Cardiovascular experience preferred
3. Electrophysiology experience preferred.
4. ACLS certification.
5. Specialty Certification preferred.
6. Working knowledge of all cardiac arrhythmias sterile technique management of the acutely ill patient and other procedures in the cardiovascular laboratory.
7. Must be willing to work very flexible hours. On call maybe required.
8. May be required to assume charge nurse role.
9. Physical requirements:
a) visual acuity of 20/20 or corrected to 20/20 including color vision when applicable;
b) ability to hear (with or without aides)
c) ability to orally communicate
d) good manual dexterity
e) ability to push pull roll and transfer/lift 50 pounds occasionally
f) ability to stand walk frequently
g) ability to bend reach stoop kneel frequently; and
h) ability to perform CPR (if a required for position).
