JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The teaching assistants for the Comparative Vertebrate Anatomy Lab will lead their assigned laboratory section and coordinate specific lab activities including: 1 assisting with an orientation at the beginning of the semester to students in the assigned section describing laboratory policies safety considerations and expectations; 2 prepare the lab prior to the session and ensure that the lab is cleaned at the end of the session; 3 prepare demonstration specimens; 4 in conjunction with the laboratory coordinator provide instruction to the lab session as a whole or small groups and individuals as needed; 5 help prepare administer and clean up lab exams; 6 grade lab assignments and exams; 7 participate in prelab meetings each week with other TAs and lab coordinator to review upcoming lab material; 8 perform other duties as assigned by the laboratory coordinator.
Requirements: Applicants must have recently completed VBSC/BIOL 421 Comparative Vertebrate Anatomy Lab (or an equivalent course) with a satisfactory grade and must be available during the scheduled laboratory sessions.
