Job Duties

What you will do:


Inform programmatic responses to addiction and mental health challenges among criminal justice populations specifically within jails and the community.
Lead or serve on interagency workgroups addressing substance use disorder and mental health treatment.
Coordinate and oversee multiple state and federal grant programs related to jailbased behavioral health treatment and specialty dockets.
Review prepare and submit applications and reports as required by local state and federal agencies to continued receipt of funds.
Pursue grant funding to address gaps in behavioral health needs in the justiceinvolved population.
Ensure DCJS and grantees are in compliance with federal state and other grant conditions.
Assess and provide technical assistance including in the development of programs training planning and evaluation services to a variety of stakeholders.
Write and submit legislatively mandated reports.
Identify gaps in jailbased treatment programs and work to address.
Monitor and analyze state legislation regarding behavioral health and jailbased treatment services for the agency.
Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
Identify and address training needs regarding behavioral health and the criminal justice system.
Keep current with research and promote evidencebased practices within criminal justice treatment programs.

Minimum Qualifications

Professional experience administering or managing a substance use disorder (SUD) treatment mental health specialty docket or jailbased program.
Professional experience administrating or managing (either as a grantee or grantor) a federal or state grant program.
Considerable knowledge of substance use disorder treatment programming.
Demonstrated ability to collect analyze and report data.
Professional experience working collaboratively as part of committees task forces or multidisciplinary teams.
Ability to think strategically and cross culturally and independently implement new initiatives and projects.
Ability to communicate both orally and in written form.
Documented experience working as an active contributing team member as well as an independent and self motivated employee.
Demonstrated ability to meet critical deadlines handle multiple assignments changing priorities and ensure timeliness and quality of completed assignments.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite email internet and utilizing spreadsheets and presentation applications.
Ability to travel.

Additional Considerations

Professional experience working with current or former justiceinvolved individuals.
Considerable knowledge of current evidencebased practices for substance use disorder treatment.
Demonstrated ability to develop and update policies and procedures to ensure program efficacy.
Professional experience working with jailbased treatment programs or specialty dockets.
Professional experience developing providing and/or facilitating training opportunities for other professionals.
Considerable knowledge of federal grant regulations.

The individual may also be responsible for submitting an annual Statement of Personal Economic Interest. In addition the selected candidate who begins original employment or reemployment in this position must serve a 12month probationary period effective from the date of employment. The anticipated starting salary range is $75000 to $85000 plus the states benefits package.
