Job Description

JOB PURPOSE STATEMENT

This varied and busy role will involve routine and reactive repair as wellas general maintenance of the building and its assets. As part of the Engineering department you will assist the team that looks after our customers both internal and externally.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Carry out assigned tasks including physical duties such as; lifting and transporting furniture and other equipment climbing ladders working in enclosed areas and pushing trolleys.
  • Repair and maintain all electrical mechanical plumbing kitchen and heating systems and associated equipment within the hotel in close coordination with the engineering leadership team.
  • Respond to internal job request system (HOSTOS) in a timely manner.
  • Inspect/repair/log plumbing deficiencies in all areas of the hotel.
  • Work from the daily hand over reports which have been assigned by your manager and provide feedback when the work is completed.
  • Check and maintain the efficiency of the hotels systems plant and equipment.
  • Inform your manager about equipment deficiencies relevant stock control and spare parts as necessary.
  • Comply with all systems procedures and company policies.
  • Be proactive in developing your individual skills.
  • Be selfmotivated and perform to the highest level.
  • Ensure you regularly attend communication meetings held within the department.
  • Ensure planned training is completed.
  • Ensure communication between Engineering and all other areas of the hotel is professional efficient and thorough.
  • Respond to and manage departmental change as required by the hotel Hilton government legislation or industry trends.
  • Ensuring your grooming are in line with hotel policy.

  • Assist with sustainability programs and drive projects to meet Hiltons objectives.
  • Any other duties assigned by the Assistant Chief Engineer/ Chief Engineer / General Manager.
  • Coordinate and assist all external contractors as necessary.
  • Keep the workshop clean and tidy.
  • Perform call out and other duties which may be assigned to you.
  • Flexible rostering as the business requires on rotating shifts.
  • Respond directly to guest maintenance requests.
  • Always have the guest and their comfort in mind in relations to your role and impact as Service Technician.
  • Be respectful of our guests privacy ensuring their every request in this regard is strictly adhered to and their details remain confidential.
  • Adhere to departmental operating expenses as laid out by your manager.

THE PERSON QUALIFICATIONS SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Passionate innovative exciting initiatives delivered with consistency and excellent attention to detail
  • Positive attitude and willingness to be involved and interact with the overall Hilton team both at an individual and team level
  • Electrical Mechanical or Plumbing/Gas Fitter trade qualified advantageous
  • Fluent in the English language in order to communicate professionally with guests and team members

  • High attention to detail flexible and efficient
  • The ability to work at a fast pace both autonomously and as part of a team
  • Ability to train and develop team members.
