DUTY AGENT/CASE AGENT ASSISTANT

Job Summary:

The Arizona Attorney Generals Office Criminal Division Special Investigations Section is seeking a Duty Agent/Case Agent Assistant (PartTime). The position will work as a Case Agent Assistant (noncertified) and will report directly to the Major Fraud Unit 2 Supervisor. As a Case Agent Assistant the position will:
Receive evaluate and document all incoming complaints as the first point of contact.
Conduct interviews (telephonic inhouse personal or via office software); research the nature and scope of the allegations.
Prepare clear concise grammatically correct and detailed departmental reports to document all aspects of the complaint(s).
Refer complaints to the appropriate department or organization.
Present incoming complaints and summary reports to the Major Fraud Unit Supervisors and the Case Review Committee.
Utilizes various types of software and investigative tools and provides Special Agents and Assistant Attorney Generals with analytical research for skip trace identity and location of caserelated persons.
Assists case agents and AAGs as is appropriate within the scope and nature of the position and authorities.
May be called upon to testify in court based upon their roles as first point of contact
Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
Other duties as assigned.

The position must also:
Provide support to other AGO employees and perform administrative tasks as needed.
Be safety conscious and use proper work methods by following standard police policies and procedures.

This position may be eligible for Remote Work up to two days a week based upon the departments business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

Job Duties:

Conduct preliminary investigations (conduct inhouse/telephonic interviews review complaints and associated documentation and write administrative reports).

Agent support duties; answer phone correspondence memos. Answer screen and direct incoming calls and mail to the appropriate individuals or areas.

Interact with walkin complainants and provide timely efficient and courteous service.

Other duties as assigned as related to the position.

Knowledge Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

KNOWLEDGE
As a Case Agent Assistant must have knowledge and an understanding of various Arizona criminal and civil statutes; and the roles responsibilities and jurisdictions of various city county state tribal and federal organizations.

SKILLS
As a Case Agent Assistant this position must have the skills to communicate effectively with people of various backgrounds and education levels using both verbal and nonverbal communication skills; conduct effective interviews; manage time and resources effectively; work effectively with team members including administrative staff and other investigators. This position may interact with representatives of other government agencies.

ABILITIES
As a Case Agent Assistant this position must have the ability to find collect preserve and evaluate information to determine the validity of and relevance to the alleged violation(s). This position must demonstrate initiative selfmotivation selfdiscipline and determination to fully and accurately document all incoming complaints as well as the ability to maintain confidentiality concerning criminal histories and case information on legal files of the Attorney Generals Office.

Selective Preference(s):

Preference given to individuals with previous law enforcement experience and knowledge of the criminal justice system. Must have computer proficiency and good organizational skills. The ideal candidate will have honorably served as an AZPOST certified officer within Arizona another state or federal agency.

PreEmployment Requirements:

Travel is required for this position. A valid Arizona Drivers License is required along with consent to have your driving record run periodically.
Must obtain Terminal Operator Certification (TOC) within six months of employment to run ACJIS inquiries.
All Special Investigations Section Staff applicants under serious consideration for hire with the Attorney Generals Office are required to be fingerprinted by the Office complete a criminal background check through State and Federal agencies and pass a polygraph test. A job offer cannot be tendered until the candidate has successfully passed the initial background check. Your record does not automatically constitute a bar to employment. Factors such as but not limited to age at time of offense and age of offense as well as the relationship between the offense and the job for which you apply will be taken into account.
