About the Opportunity
Plans and prepares meals according to established standards procedures recipes and menus including preparing special meals to meet appropriate therapeutic menu modifications according to established guidelines;
Assists with preparation of food for special functions (e.g. catering theme dinners) to ensure service meets established standards;
Reports any recipe shortages discrepancies or quality issues to the Executive Chef or supervisor in a timely manner;
Cleans and sanitizes cooking station daily; maintains cleanliness of kitchen equipment such as ovens kettles mixers or others according to legislative and organizational standards;
Follows disposal procedures according to established waste management guidelines for organics paper plastics cans/bottles nonrecyclable material etc;
About You
In addition to placing high value on continuous improvement collaboration and accountability you bring:
Culinary Arts Diploma and a valid Red Seal Certificate
Current Food Handlers Certificate
Experience in preparing large quantities of food
Ability to read & follow detailed recipes/instructions as required
Ability to provide a clear criminal record check
A passion for the healthcare sector and/or ensuring seniors have access to quality accommodations services and care
