As a Senior Technical Officer you will:
- Lead and manage technical staff to ensure efficient and safe operation of teaching and research laboratories.
- Provide expert guidance on OH&S standards ensuring a safe laboratory environment for staff and students.
- Oversee the management of hazardous substances including risk assessments safety procedures and compliance.
- Maintain and audit chemical inventories ensuring regulatory compliance for storage and disposal.
- Manage the Schools Inwards Goods facility and research SharePoint page optimising resource allocation and content management.
To be successful youll have:
- Bachelors degree in a sciencerelated field or extensive laboratory operations experience.
- Strong ability to work independently and collaboratively in highpressure environments.
- Expertise in laboratory safety regulations including OH&S hazardous substances and dangerous goods compliance.
- Experience in risk assessment and safety management for hazardous substances and laboratory equipment.
- Supervisory experience and/or skills in staff and student training in laboratory settings (desirable).
