Job Duties
The Director of Corporate Sponsorship & Marketing will support the Associate Athletic Director of External Relations in the development and of a comprehensive marketing plan for the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. This position will promote the Norfolk State brand in an effort to increase attendance generate revenue and coordinate further outreach in the Norfolk and surrounding communities.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree in marketing communications public relations marketing sports management or a related field. Masters degree is preferred.
at least three to five years of relevant experience in sponsorship and marketing preferably in the sports industry or higher education and understand of what is required by the NCAA.
Strong understanding of sports marketing branding and promotion strategies.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in digital marketing social media management and website content management systems.
The successful candidate will be selfdirected highly motivated and goal oriented work with integrity value gender equity and bring skills and abilities needed to advance Norfolk State athletics and the university including the capacity to be a visible and engaging leader and advocate for the program and the university.
