Job Description

Drive both academic progress and student wellbeing as a Head of Year in our outstanding Barking school! Applications particularly welcomed from English Maths and Science teachers.

Our outstanding school in Barking is seeking a highly motivated and organized teacher ideally specializing in English Maths or Science to take on the key role of Head of Year. You will be responsible for creating a positive and supportive learning environment where all students can achieve their full potential both academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the academic progress behaviour and attendance of a designated year group.
  • Develop and implement strategies to support student achievement and wellbeing.
  • Work collaboratively with subject teachers SENCO and other support staff.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding student progress and welfare.
  • Lead and support a team of form tutors in their work with students.
  • Contribute to the schools commitment to safeguarding and pastoral care.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

  • Excellent communication organizational and data analysis skills.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team effectively.
