Te Whiwhinga Mahi The Opportunity
We are seeking a collaborative and proactive Pouhere Rangahau Research Theme Manager to join Ng Pae o te Mramatanga (NPM) Aotearoa New Zealands Mori Centre of Research Excellence. This is a fulltime permanent role based in a uniquely kaupapa Mori environment at Waipapa Marae within the Faculty of Arts and Education.
NPM is the only Mori Centre of Research Excellence and we are proud of our distinctive impactful research that supports flourishing Mori futures. In this role youll connect our researchers across the country and the world fostering collaboration across public research organisations universities and Indigenous communities. Youll help advance our kaupapa by identifying new research funding and investment opportunities supporting the next generation of Mori researchers and building capacity within our networks.
This is a rewarding opportunity to combine your skills in project and contract management whanaungatanga and relationship building to elevate Indigenous research and contribute to longterm positive change.
This role is fixed term for approx 30 months 37.5 hours per week $88000 $95000 per annum.

To succeed in this role you will bring strong organisational and relational skills and an alignment with our values and vision. Ideally you will have:
Proven ability to plan prioritise and manage complex workflows to meet tight deadlines
Strong administrative and research coordination skills including managing office operations supporting contract and project delivery and streamlining processes across a range of research activities
Excellent relationshipbuilding and stakeholder engagement skills
High level of proficiency in te reo Mori both written and spoken and confidence working in tikanga Mori environments
A proactive approach to problemsolving and identifying new opportunities for funding and collaboration
Comfort working in a dynamic changing environment with competing priorities
Experience in the New Zealand research sector or knowledge of research funding environments is desirable but not essential
