Job Description
- Safely operate waste collection vehicles and ensure compliance with all transportation regulations and company policies.
- Collect waste and recyclables from assigned routes in a timely manner.
- Conduct pretrip and posttrip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and operational readiness.
- Report any mechanical issues or required vehicle maintenance to management.
- Ensure that all safety protocols are followed during waste collection to protect yourself and the public.
- Interact positively with customers addressing any questions or concerns they may have regarding waste collection services.
- Complete required documentation including driver logs and collection reports accurately.
- Participate in training and safety meetings as required.
Qualifications :
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Familiarity with local waste collection routes and regulations is a plus.
- Ability to operate heavy machinery and equipment safely.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physically fit to perform the manual duties associated with the job.
Working Conditions:
- May be required to work early mornings evenings or overtime as needed.
- Exposure to various weather conditions while working outdoors.
- Physically demanding work including lifting and moving heavy waste containers.
