The Learning Project Ibiza is becoming a Learnlife Hub and is seeking a multitalented Head Learning Guide to take ownership of coleading the integration and guiding the community of school aged kids.
Start date: May/June latest mid August.
Who are we
The Learning Project is a private notforprofit school with 80 children aged 318 based on the principle that each young child has an inherent drive to learn and be independent both in body and mind. This is combined with an innate wisdom that guides them to explore and learn in their own way and at their own pace.
Our mission is to offer a safe and varied environment where children can maintain grow and build on their innate learning qualities and set themselves up to be selfmotivated lifelong lovers of learning. We believe that the role of an adult be it guide mentor or parent is to attune to the needs and interests of the child in order to accompany and facilitate their learning process rather than teach a predetermined set of knowledge.
We are nestled next to a large pine tree forest in the outskirts of Santa Eulalia in the north of Ibiza. 2025 is an exciting year because we are becoming a Learnlife Hub with a NEASC ACE track accredited secondary and we are acquiring a second facility across the road 6700m2. It is time to expand and consolidate our community and join forces with Learnlife.

Where do you come inRole overview
Strategic Leadership & School Growth:
- Collaborate with the Head of School to oversee enrollment expansion and the relocation of the secondary program ensuring smooth transitions while maintaining the integrity of our democratic education model and the adoption of Learnlife standards.
- Act as a liaison between The Learning Project and Learnlife Barcelona fostering a strong partnership and alignment of vision.
- Support the implementation of systems and structures that facilitate school growth while keeping student agency at the center
Educational Leadership & Staff Development:
- Provide mentorship and training for staff in both innovative and self directed education models.
- Support staff in implementing innovative assessment practices such as Understanding by Design (UbD) Universal Design for Learning (UDL).
- Ensure that learning remains flexible inquirydriven and studentcentered aligned with selfdirected education principles.
Curriculum & Learning Design
- Assist in designing refining and evolving the curriculum to align with NEASC accreditation standards and progressive pedagogical principles.
- Develop and implement studentdriven projects ensuring alignment with formal nonformal and informal learning structures.
- Contribute to the tracking and reporting of student progress through our innovative tracking platform supporting both sta1 and students in using the platform electively.
Community Engagement & School Culture
- Staff at the Learning Project aim for continuous improvement both in terms of understanding what type of learners we have and how to open the doors for each individual learner to what NEASC calls its formal requirements. We dont do teaching we enable learning and we dont do this learning in the traditional sense: one size fits all you will alongside the head of school and other staff members work to progress our approach and aim for excellence on how this formal environment is created for the students.
- Our aim and for you as a staff member is for our students to become self directed and not rely on staff or tutors to supplement their educational journey.
- Maintain a caring inclusive and supportive learning environment for students staff and families.
- Support school governance structures including Community Meetings student voice initiatives and restorative justice practices.
Staff Role STEM for 7th8th grade (Sciences Chemistry Physics Biology)
- Act as a guide coach mentor counsellor passion pusher facilitator curator and whatever else our learners need our guides to be for them in the daily operation of the school.
- Design and implement studentled interdisciplinary experiences.
- Provide targeted support for the sciences ensuring students develop strong critical thinking and expression abilities.
You bring:
Experience & Expertise:
- 10 years in international education with a background in both traditional and progressive models.
- A proven track record in creating learning programmes and translating philosophy into learning experience ideally in an innovative learning environment.
- Experience in developing and implementing learning experiences from conceptualisation through to implementation and evaluation.
- Capacity to draw from a wide variety of learning methodologies and apply them appropriately based on the context and the learner
Skills & Competencies:
- Excellent leadership communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to mentor coach and develop staff while also being actively engaged as a staff member.
- Proven ability to connect and build trust with children combined with skill to identify what role you need to play for each learner:guide facilitator mentor counsellor tutor etc
- Native/C2 level English is a must Spanish is desirable (ideally bilingual)
