Department: Business Outreach Office (BUO)
Division: Workforce Development (WOD)

Salary: $24.00 hourly day / $26.00 hourly night
FLSA: NonExempt

Reporting Relationships
Reports to: General supervision is received from the Dean of Workforce Development
Supervision Exercised: None.

Job Summary
Provide a variety of teaching/learning activities that prepare students for the class Acommercial drivers license (CDL) examination and an entrylevel position in the trucking industry.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Related duties may be assigned.

1. Teach the classroom portion of the Truck Driver Training Program including permits logbooks and trip planning.
2. Teach handson portion of the Truck Driver Training Program including backing shifting and behindthewheel training.
3. Maintain student files in compliance with ICCB and IL Secretary of State standards.
4. Maintain Truck Driver Training Program equipment.
5. Monitor inventory of training supplies.
6. Evaluate and grade students throughout the program.
7. Provide maintenance on equipment in emergency situations.
8. Able to work oncall bases if the enrollment requires.
9. Regular attendance is expected.
10. Using tact and courtesy the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with persons contacted in the course of work.

Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent. Possess a class CDLA drivers license for at least 2 years and a current Department of Transportation medical certificate. Class A driving experience clean driving record. Some training experience is a plus.

The employee is frequently required to stand talk and hear.
