Nursery Room Leader

FullTime Salary:per annum (DOE)

Location: Gloucester

Our client is seeking a confident creative and committed Nursery Room Leader to join their dedicated early years team in Gloucester.


This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced childcare professional ready to take the next step in their career leading a vibrant nursery room and supporting a team to deliver exceptional care and education.

This nursery is more than just a place of learning its a nurturing inclusive community where children and staff are equally valued. As Room Leader youll play a central role in shaping the daily experiences of the children in your care guiding your team and working closely with families to ensure every child thrives.

Youll be based in a wellresourced supportive setting that encourages innovation and autonomy and offers the structure of the EYFS framework alongside the freedom to bring your ideas to life.

About You

  • Minimum Level 3 qualification in Early Years (essential)
  • Proven experience working with children aged 05 years
  • At least one year of experience in a senior or supervisory childcare role (required)
  • Strong knowledge of the EYFS and child development
  • Ability to lead a team with positivity clarity and purpose
  • Excellent communication skills with children colleagues and parents
  • Confident in planning recordkeeping and using basic IT systems

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the daytoday running of your designated room with energy and professionalism
  • Be a strong role model for both children and colleagues
  • Plan and deliver engaging ageappropriate activities following the EYFS framework
  • Ensure a safe stimulating environment both indoors and outdoors
  • Maintain open positive communication with parents keeping them informed and involved
  • Oversee the planning observation and assessment cycle for your team and key children
  • Monitor food safety standards and promote healthy eating practices
  • Support the Nursery Manager and Deputy in the smooth running of the wider setting
  • Celebrate childrens achievements and create engaging displays that reflect their learning
